About Me

Timothy Webster was born and raised on a Farm in rural Ontario. He graduated from University of Waterloo with M.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering. During his post-graduate work at Waterloo he found his passion for invention. He lived and worked in New York City and Hong Kong before settling in Vancouver, BC. He has had multiple careers in his life.  On the Farm before University, like many farm kids, he learned to fix things, operate heavy equipment, animal husbandry,  and that farming is hard.

After University he was a computer system administrator with roles including co-oversight of the New York Stock Exchange floor nightly restart in preparation for morning day opening, rolling out Vodafone’s SMS service in Australia and New Zealand. Then he started a Company and wrote multiple patents. Since then he has worked at Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and smaller companies. His recent experience includes robotics, computer vision, machine learning, and project management frequently having product testing, manufacturing, and release sign off authority.

In addition to writing numerous patents and white papers,  Timothy has been an editorial advisory board member for political activism and campaigning in the Information Age. For much of Timothy’s life, he has held high responsibility positions where errors and oversights in design and implementation come at very high costs. Overseeing project success he understands that it is often people and their collaboration or lack of it that determines success more than technology.  Timothy understands being a Member of Parliament is a high responsibility position and is very mindful of the high costs of errors and oversights.

Tim and his wife Candy have one daughter Natalie. To relax he enjoys sampling food from cultures around the world with new friends.
